Jambo Freelancer

Getting Started

Before we begin, make sure you have Divi Theme installed on your WordPress website before installing this child theme. We recommend doing this on a fresh WordPress installation.

The Divi theme is not included in this package. To download Divi, you must have an Elegant Themes Membership. If you don’t have the membership, follow this link to acquire one.

Once you have installed Divi Theme, go ahead and set permalink to “Post-name”.

Go to the WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Settings>>Permalinks then change it to Post-name, then click “Save changes”.

Some images have been replaced due to licensing.

The page links from buttons and logos are removed, so you need to relink those to the right pages.

To have the exact same design as the demo, you will need at least four blog posts. (It doesn’t matter though. You can still achieve the design even without the posts, then add the posts later). You can use these demo content for your website if you don’t have content already.

Plugins to Install:

• Classic Editor
• Social Warfare

Image Requirements:

• Blog Post Featured Image: 768x512px
• Logo (both main and footer): 100x100px

Step 1: Installing Jambo Freelancer

Download and unzip the ‘Jambo_Freelancer_Child_Theme_UNPACKME.zip’ file to your computer.

In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance > Themes and click on Add New.

Locate the Jambo-Freelancer-Child-Theme.zip file in the Jambo_Freelancer_Child_Theme_UNPACKME.zip folder on your computer and then click Install Now.

When the install is complete click on ‘Activate’, you will then see the Jambo Freelancer Child Theme as the active theme in your theme panel.

Step 2: Importing the json Files

From the Jambo_Freelancer_Child_Theme_UNPACKME folder, locate the Imports folder containing the json files.

• Go to Divi > Theme Options. Click on the import/export options (up/down arrow). Click on Import and upload Jambo Theme Options.json.
• Go to Divi > Theme Builder. Click on the import/export options. Click on Import and upload Jambo Theme Builder Templates.json.
• Go to Divi > Theme Customization. Click on the import/export options (up/down arrow). Click on Import and upload Jambo Customizer Settings.json.
• Go to Divi > Divi Library. Click on the import/export options. Click on Import and upload Jambo Builder Layouts.json.

Step 3: Creating Website Pages

Go to Pages > Add New. Give your page a name for example Home.

In the Divi Builder Click on Load Layout then click on Your Saved Layouts.

Here you will find all the pages from the demo. Load the page you want and publish it.

The child theme comes with the following layouts:

• Homepage
• About
• Contact
• Newsletter (opt in)
• Footer (Footer Simple, and Footer Page)
• 404 Page

Step 4: Setting a Static Homepage

To set the Home page as static, go to Setting > Reading then select the Home page as a static page, then click Save changes.

Step 5: Adding Primary Menu

Go to Appearance > Menus then click on create a new menu at the top. Enter a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box then click the Create Menu button.

Add the menu items to your new menu, then select Primary Menu as the display section under the menu settings. Click Save Menu.

Step 6: Editing “Get a Quote” Button and Social Media Buttons

From your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Divi > Theme Builder.

Click on the edit icon o the Global Header to open the header on a Divi Builder.

Change settings for the Button and the Social Media Follow modules. Add the relevant links to your social media pages.

Click Save, then exit the builder.

Step 7: Editing Footer and Changing Footer Credits

From your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Divi > Theme Builder.

Click on the edit icon o the Global Footer to open the Footer on a Divi Builder.

Change settings for the image, text, and the Social Media Follow modules. Add the relevant links to your social media pages.

Click Save, then exit the builder.

Step 8: Uploading The Website’s Logo

From your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Divi > Theme Options.

Click on the Upload button, then select a logo file from your computer.

Note: Logo size should be 100px by 100px.

Once you are done, click on Save Changes.
